Unprecedented novelty in Latvia – gourmets’ favorite ice cream Ekselence with macaron crumbs

Latvia’s leading dairy company Food Union continues to expand the range of Ekselence ice cream by adding two brand new kinds of ice cream bars: Ekselence pistachio ice cream with rich layers of chocolate sauce in crisp milk chocolate, covered in macaron and almond crumbs, and Ekselence orange ice cream with layers of juicy orange sauce in milk chocolate coating, with macaron and almond crumbs. These are the first ice creams in Latvia made employing the unique “dry coating” technology, which achieves rich taste and makes for an unforgettable ice cream experience. On the whole, this year Food Union has invested more than 140 thousand euros in the development and production of gourmet ice cream’s Ekselence new products.

“Almond cookies macarons is the pride of French cuisine, they are also highly appreciated by Latvian gourmets. While preparing for the new summer season, we drew inspiration from global trends and, as a result, we have created a new kind of Ekselence ice cream that – for the first time in Latvia – is covered in the ethereal macaron crumbs. The ice cream, inspired by French confectionery, is made of Latvian milk and cream in velvety milk chocolate. Regardless of whether you prefer modern or classic flavors, you will be delighted to taste the new ice cream bar, be it a regular day or a special occasion,” says the joint-stock company Rīgas piena kombināts (Food Union Group) Board Chairman Normunds Staņēvičs.
Another novelty for those who love ice cream is that, for the first time, gourmet’s favorite Ekselence is available in mini size, in two kinds of multipacks. Each multipack is made up of six ice creams – three from each of the popular flavors, that is, Ekselence classic and almond ice cream, or Ekselence ice cream with peanut butter and pomegranate sauce in double chocolate coating. Ekselence mini sets will appeal to those families and companies of friends who prefer variety in small portions.

Ekselence, popular with ice cream gourmets, is the favorite ice cream brand in Latvia. Made of the best Latvian milk and cream in combination with select ingredients, Ekselence is currently available in more than 20 flavors. The new Ekselence pistachio and orange ice creams with macaron crumbs in chocolate coating are already available at Latvia’s largest retail outlets and other stores. On the other hand, ice cream Ekselence mini sets are available at the largest hypermarkets at the moment.
