Food Union products receive five awards at Riga Food 2021 competitions

At the annual international food exhibition Riga Food 2021, the leading dairy processing company in Latvia – Food Union, received the jury’s evaluation in four different categories with five awards – one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. The products of the company’s favorite brands – Kārums, Valmiera, Ekselence, Pols and Rasēns, have won laurels at the food exhibition, thus confirming their excellent quality and compliance with the highest food production standards.

Gold medal in the category “new ice cream of the year 2020/2021″ was awarded to the gourmet ice cream brand Ekselence produced by Food Union for its orange cream ice cream with orange sauce in white chocolate. In this same category, the new plum flavored ice cream from the company’s legendary ice cream brand Pols was awarded a silver medal. The chief production manager of these ice creams is Natālija Šakina.

In the “sweetcream/sourcream butter“ category, the 82% butter produced by the Valmiera brand under the supervision of Ilgvars Tamanis was awarded a silver medal.

The most delicious dairy product brand Kārums, for its pineapple and coconut cream yogurt, was awarded a bronze medal in the category “new dairy drink of the year 2020/2021”. The main yogurt production supervisor – Viktors Biziks.

Furthermore, a bronze medal in the category “dairy product packaging” was awarded to the favorite children’s brand Rasēns for its milk with bubble gum flavor.

The Riga Food exhibition is an important event promoting the development of the food industry, in which the winners in milk, bread and honey production competitions are awarded every year. It is an excellent platform to present existing or new products, meet industry professionals from all over the world and get acquainted with current trends in the industry. Each year, the products of Food Union masters are highly valued among professionals – last year, at the Riga Food 2020 exhibition, Food Union received three medals – a gold, a silver and a bronze.
