ANNO 1962

Isbjørn Is

Isbjørn Is was founded in 1962 outside Bergen in Norway. Initially, Isbjørn Is just supplied ice cream locally to the west coast of Norway. The demand was high, and so was the number of competitors in the market. Today, however, Isbjørn Is has grown to become one of the three largest ice cream producers in the country.

The company was family owned for over fifty years. Food Union took over ownership in 2016 and has in a short amount of time made the company grow and spread its distribution nationwide through one of the largest retail chains in Norway — REMA 1000. The line of products contains a wide range of ice cream, consisting of single products, value packs, ice cream cakes and fromages.
