Den Norske Isbilen

Den Norske Isbilen was founded in 1996. As one of the first companies in Norway offering direct customer delivery, the business quickly expanded. The business model, based on regular bi-weekly truck visits to local neighbourhoods along a standardized route of truck stops, was a huge success. At the start, there was just a handful of trucks covering the eastern districts of Norway. In the following years, however, the number of trucks increased, and by 2002 there was country-wide distribution. As of today, there are 100 trucks driving to the furthermost peaks of Norway.

Ice cream is principally supplied from companies in the Food Union Group – Isbjørn Is in Norway and Food Union in Latvia. The product line consists of multipacks of single products, and multipacks of assorted products, in addition to ice cakes and fromages. Den Norske Isbilen also offers a small range of seafood products.
