As Rigas Piena Kombinats receives iso 9001 and iso 22000 certificates repeatedly

International management systems certification leader Bureau Veritas Latvia has positively assessed the performance of AS Rigas Piena Kombinats, belonging to Food Union group, in terms of quality and food safety management and concluded that the company meets the standards of ISO 9001:2009 and ISO 22000:2006.

“The repeated certification proves the ability of AS Rigas Piena Kombinats to successfully combine the company’s dynamic development and responsibility towards the society. Recertification is a strategic step that will allow Food Union to continue the launched development path, attract new customers and look for new solutions in order to offer to customers dairy products of the highest quality,” said Normunds Stanevics, CEO of AS Rigas Piena Kombinats (Food Union group).

ISO 9001is international quality management standard based on good business practice principles, such as customer-oriented operations, employee engagement in management, the process approach, systemic approach to management, continual improvement of processes, evidence-based decision making and relationship management with suppliers.

ISO 22000 is international standard for food safety management system based on interactive communication, system management, risk analysis and control.

The certification audit was conducted by “Bureau Veritas Latvia” – a company with more than 150 years of experience in more than 100 countries in certification and qualification training in quality, environment, labor safety and occupational health, and food safety management systems. “Bureau Veritas Certification” brand is an internationally recognized symbol, meaning the liabilities of the certified company in relation to excellence, sustainable operations and confidence.
