The first Ice Cream Festival during Jūrmala Resort Festival

Food Union, the leading dairy company and ice cream producer in Latvia, in collaboration with Jūrmala сity announces the Resort Festival on May 27, which will also host the Ice Cream Festival – the sweetest event of the Festival. All day both big and small visitors will be able to enjoy the best ice creams, ice cream cocktails and ice cream desserts from Latvia, offered by such brands as Pols, Kārums, Tio, Klasika and Ekselence, at an especially “tasty” price. The Ice Cream Festival will take place at Dzintari beach opposite Turaidas iela access to the sea, from 10:00 to 19:00.

Almost all these brands boast recent additions – Kārums curd ice cream, Pols chocolate ice cream in crunchy waffle, Ekselence vanilla and almond ice cream, and others. We invite all summer season-goers to come and join the first Ice Cream Festival at Jūrmala beach for all of the latest tastes, and all-time favourite cold and sweet pleasures, as well as many entertaining activities and a competition,” announced Sandra Usačeva, Food Union ice cream brand manager.

The Ice Cream Festival will be full of amusing activities and competition for the family. Pols ice cream will invite all guests to go back to their childhood memories by taking a photo on an oversized rocking horse. Kārums curd ice cream will take visitors to the Flyzone, where children can test their accuracy by flying little crows at a target or saving the crows and returning them to their nests, as well as taking photos with the little Kārums crows. Tio, the most popular ice cream brand, will offer ice cream cocktails and invite children to participate in creative workshops, get bright face paintings and “embody” ice cream in a special photo studio. Klasika, the brand of classical values and tastes, will invite everyone to a retro photo stand, while Ekselence, the most elegant gourmet ice cream, will create a romantic beach café to hide away from the festival’s hustle and bustle and enjoy ice cream desserts prepared by chefs in a relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to the Ice Cream Festival, Jūrmala citizens and guests are invited to enjoy a varied Resort Festival entertainment programme – “ZZ Festival” sports activities on the Majori beach for children and youth, the Ghetto Dance international street dance competition in the Majori parking lot. Near the „Hotel Jūrmala SPA“ will perform Lauris Valters with a band, Kārlis Kazāks and friends, Goran Gora and Edgars Šubrovskis with a band. The evening concert at the Majori beach main stage will host Latvian song artists of different genres and generations – PeR, Mesa, Igo, Aminata, Edavārdi, Marija Naumova, Viktors Lapčenoks, and others. The festival will finish with grand fireworks at the seashore.
