Food Union Debuts at one of the Biggest Fairs in China

Food Union, the leading dairy production company in Latvia, is participating in one of the biggest food fairs in China – World of Food Beijing 2014 in Beijing between November 26 and 28. It is the biggest food fair in North China – the fastest growing and most attractive region for food product imports with a 200 million population market.

“At the moment China is the biggest dairy product, mostly milk powder, import market. However, the Chinese market is not homogeneous, consumer tastes change across regions and they are developing quickly. Therefore, it is especially important to establish contacts with local partners: store chains, distributors. So far we have successfully established contacts in the Shanghai Region and thanks to the World of Food Beijing we are planning to expand our contacts to the North China: Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other cities as well as receive feedback about our products from the potential buyers,” Normunds Stanevics (Normunds Staņēvičs), AS Rigas piena kombinats (Food Union Group) Chairman of the Board, explains.

Food Union will go to the World of Food Beijing 2014 – the biggest food fair in the North China and present dairy products already popular in Latvia: RASA butter and fresh and spreadable cheese, Rasens milk drinks for children, Limbazu piens fresh cheese and Lapland cheese Valmiera as well as industrial products: milk powder and whey powder. Food Union will also present Ekselence premium ice cream, Nu Fruit fruit ice cream and Nu Smoothie and Pols, the most popular Latvian ice cream, at the stall.

World of Food Beijing 2014 fair is taking place under the wing of the international trade fair operator Anuga for the first time ever. It takes place at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing opened in 2009 where 500 participants of the fair will fill over 22,000 m2 area. The fair is expected to be attended by representatives of 203 companies from 23 countries. Food Union’s stall is part of the joint stall of European dairy products.
